SĂŁo Paulo, June 20, 2023 - One of the most awaited launches in recent years, Rampage arrives to offer high doses of the fundamental pillars of the brand - strength, capacity, luxury and technology -, always present in the North American Ram pickup trucks, within a package in the perfect size for the conditions of Brazil and all of South America. Rampage makes its world debut in Brazil carrying

After all, it is the first Ram vehicle designed and developed in Brazil. Supported by North American teams of the brand, the Rampage project was carried out by more than 800 engineers and technicians in Brazil, surpassing 1.2 million hours of development. The investment in the pickup went from R$ 1.3 billion, from the total of R$ 16 billion that Stellantis is allocating in the country between 2018 and 2025.

Fifth vehicle to leave the Polo Stellantis de Goiana (PE), which already accounts for about 1.4 million units produced, Rampage will be in the Ram dealership network - about to have more than 100 stores - from August, in three versions, each with its own personality: Laramie, Rebel and R/T. But the pre-sale already starts this Thursday, June 22, at 10 a.m., through the website www.ram.com.br.

DESIGN

Work of the Stellantis Design Center of South America, the imposing and impactful lines of Rampage also had the collaboration of North American designers. Because all the striking characteristics of the designs of the desired Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 had to be visible in this first Ram conceived outside the matrix.

The body is all new and special attention has been paid to the proportions of all volumes, so that the body is "musculous", from any angle you see. Stellantis designers also worked so that each version of Rampage could show a specific identity.

Therefore, at Rebel the off-road look gives the cards, with the extensive use of external parts with black and graphite finishes. In the same way as in the "greater sister" Ram 1500 Rebel, the wheels and the grid, in trapezoidal shape, have an exclusive design. In Rampage Laramie, chrome and silver finishes predominate in pieces such as front grille, glass frames, rearview mirror covers, door handles, logos, wheels and rear bumper, bringing a more traditional style, as in the Ram 2500 and 3500.

In the sportier version, the R/T, the whole tradition of the famous acronym ("Road/Track", Road/Track) is displayed with a mixture of components in the color of the body and bright black. Also noteworthy are the large bands on the hood and the emblem of the version on the rear fenders and on the wheel faces also exclusive to this version. Completes the sports package with the ceiling printed in black.

It is also worth mentioning the attention paid to the details of Rampage, such as the optical assemblies, both entirely of LED. On the front, the headlights have a striking signature and the arrows are dynamic, with the light "moving" from the inside out - an unprecedented feature in the segment. Still in the headlights, they have a dual-function projector, responsible for the low and high headlights. And the fog lights are also LED with cornering function (accompany the curve).

Behind, the lanterns bring graphics that, when illuminated, refer to the flag of the United States, with red stripes and the backlight forming the rectangle of the stars. Both optical sets still have a welcome movement when connecting the pickup.

In relation to the main external dimensions, the Rampage is 5,028 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, 1,780 mm high, 2, 4,994 mm between axles and 264 mm of free span between the axles.

STRENGTH

The Rampage is the most powerful pickup truck manufactured in South America. This is due to the modern Hurricane 4 engine, applied for the first time to a vehicle produced in the region. It can equip the three versions, and in R/T it is the only engine. There are 272 hp of power and 400 Nm (40.8 kgfm) of torque generated by the 2-liter four-cylinder gasoline-line propellant, the same that equips the Jeep Wrangler. State-of-the-art, it is all made of aluminum and has direct injection and double variable valve control.

Part of the GME (global medium engine) family of Stellantis, the Hurricane 4 also has a low inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, electronic relief valve and refrigerated exhaust gas recirculation. Everything to provide the best performance among the pickup trucks produced in the region. In the R/T version, the sportiest of all, the Rampage accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a maximum (limited) speed of 220 km/h. In the others, the performance is still breathtaking - 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 210 km/h.

It is worth mentioning that, when equipped with this engine, the Rampage has a double exhaust that, in the R/T version, produces an even more thought-provoking sound. On the steering wheel of Rebel and Laramie there is the Sport button, which changes the look of the digital instrument panel, makes accelerator and steering responses faster and programs gear changes in higher turns. In R/T, this command takes the name of the version and further changes these points.

Rampage's other propeller is the already renowned 2-liter Multijet Turbo Diesel, which delivers 170 hp of power and 380 Nm (38.8 kgfm) of torque. An unbeatable combination of economy and performance, capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and reaching up to 186 km/h. Multijet is available in Rebel and Laramie configurations.

To deal with all the power of these two engines, the transmission system is of the highest level. All versions of Rampage have a nine-speed automatic transmission, with a rotary selector - as in the Ram 1500 - and the option of manual changes through fins on the steering wheel. In turn, the traction is always 4x4 automatic, which distributes the force between the two axes, with the option of reduced by means of a button on the central console.

Capacity

Capacity is a non-negotiable pillar for Ram and Rampage is proof of this. Starting with the robustness of the structure, composed of 86% high and ultra-high strength steels. Independent on all four wheels, with McPherson architecture at the front and multilink at the back, the suspensions have specific geometry and calibration for the new pickup, with DNA Ram. The goal is to deliver maximum comfort and stability in any situation, whether on an off-road route or in a more sporty driving, and without giving up the load capacity.

The R/T version also has firmer springs and shock absorbers, 10 mm lowering in the suspension and 19-inch rim wheels with 235/55 tires. At Rebel, off-road fitness is enhanced by All Terrain 235/65 R17 tires (with even more off-road tread in the gasoline option). The Laramie version has 18" rims and 235/60 tires.

The high performance of the Hurricane 4 engine also required special care with the brake system. In all Rampage they are disc ventilated on all four wheels - 305 mm in diameter at the front and 320 mm at the rear. The parking brake is electronic and has the Auto Hold feature, making life easier for the driver in heavy traffic. On the slopes, there is also the Start Assist (for ramp start). Also standard in all versions there is the Hill Descent Control (HDC) feature, for steep descents on the off-road.

The load capacity is 1,015 kg in diesel configurations and 750 kg with the gasoline propellant. Numbers that make it easy to transport heavy loads in the bucket, which has a plastic coating in all versions and has 980 liters of volumetric capacity. Even in the cabin the storage stands out, with 35.4 liters of object holders, the best capacity among medium pickup trucks.

Luxury

The interior of Rampage has been carefully designed to bring luxury and well-being to the occupants. The benches were inspired by premium furniture, creating a living room armchair feeling. All with a very high level of finish, as seen in the choice of noble materials such as perforated leather and suede (this one, exclusive to the R/T version, which also has red seams to further enhance the sports look).

The air conditioning is always digital, two-zone, and also includes exits for the back passengers. The attention to the composition of an exquisite atmosphere is also reflected in the LED ambient light and the Harman Kardon® premium sound system. The latter has 10 speakers distributed in the cabin, one of them being a 6" subwoofer located below the passenger seat. The system is capable of gearing 360 watts of power. Both features are part of the only optional package, Elite, which also includes a seat with 12-way electrical adjustments for the passenger - the driver's is always electric as standard.

Even in the bucket you can see the attention applied to generate a pleasant experience of use. In addition to having an electric opening (by a button on the key), it has damping, to lower smoothly and facilitate lifting, and internal lighting also in LED.

The instrument panel is coated in leather, as well as the door panel, the center arm supports and the multifunctional steering wheel with height and depth adjustment. The instrument panel coating is coated in black leather in the Rebel version, brown leather in Laramie and suede in R/T. In addition to this care, the front door panel and the top of the instrument panel are soft to the touch, which even helps to reduce internal noise in the cabin.

Technology

Rampage is the national production pickup with the widest technological content. Those who enter it are immediately impacted by 22.6 inches of screens. There are 10.3" of the full digital instrument panel and 12.3" of the Uconnect multimedia center monitor, the largest in the category. In addition to the size and definition of the screen, the system stands out for its intuitive use and the amount of features, such as wireless connection for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the possibility of pairing two smartphones at the same time. In the large center console, another highlight is the RamCharger, an induction cell phone charger with air outlet to cool the phone. Speaking of charging, 6 USB ports - 3 of which are type C - are scattered throughout the cabin, the largest amount among the compact and medium pickup trucks offered on the market. It is worth remembering that two of these are positioned in an object holder located below the central console.

The list of safety equipment is plentiful and includes, for example: seven airbags (front, front side, curtain (front and rear) and knee for driver), stability control, body rolling mitigation, automatic high headlight switching, tire pressure monitoring and various driving aids. Among them are adaptive speed control with Stop&Go, frontal collision alert with autonomous emergency braking and detection of pedestrians and cyclists, monitoring of blind spots, detection of crossed rear traffic and lane exit alert with correction.

Another highlight of Rampage, in all versions, is the Ram Connect, which debuted last month in Brazil with Ram 1500 Limited. It is a set of services that connects the driver to the pickup in various ways. Both for a series of features on board and for the smartphone application from where you can remotely consult the Health Report of the pickup that shows the time for the next review, tire pressure and fuel level, in addition to the remote controls (such as starting and air conditioning your Rampage) among other information.

Ram Connect is a broad package of connectivity, real-time security with 24-hour monitoring, assistance in emergency situations, remote updates and intelligent navigation (such as the calculation of fuel autonomy for arrival at the destination and the traffic situation at the moment, for example). Every Rampage will include free access to all premium services for 12 months, such as embedded Wi-Fi with 60 GB of data franchise, making the vehicle a hotspot with the possibility of connecting up to eight devices simultaneously. The system also brings features such as online service scheduling and connection to personal account.

Rampage's serial items are completed by remote start on the key (which can also be done by the Ram Connect app), the Keyless Enter'n Go system, the electrochromic internal rearview mirror, twilight and rain sensors, and the electric exterior rear-view mirrors with electric folding and courtesy lights.

AFTER SALES

Rampage's scheduled maintenance plans put it in a privileged position in the market. The sum of the revisions up to 60,000 km is R$ 4,464 in the versions with the turbo diesel engine and R$ 6,120 when equipped with the Hurricane 4. Values much lower than those practiced by the competition. Remembering that the revisions will be made every 20,000 km (diesel) and every 12,000 km (gasoline) or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Rampage will have a full 3-year warranty with the possibility of acquiring an extension (wide or engine and gearbox) of 12 or 24 months, to reach up to 5 years of coverage. A novelty that debuts with Rampage at Ram brand dealerships is the opportunity to do vehicle aesthetic services such as technical washing, hygiene and crystallization. All part of the Ram Care program, made to deliver maximum care to the customer.

Customizing Rampage will be very easy. For the launch, a portfolio of more than 35 original Mopar accessories will be available, of which items such as electric stirrups, unprecedented in national pickup trucks and produced in Brazil, stand out. It is also worth mentioning equipment such as RamBar - the santantonio da Ram -, rigid marine hood (electric or manual), canvas marine hood,

In addition, Rampage is coming with the innovation of Mopar 3D Lab, something unprecedented in Latin America. These are free designs of accessories that customers will be able to produce on a 3D printer, to further increase the possibilities of customizing the pickup. At this first moment there will be six items, all to be fitted on the lower floor of the center console: two holders for cell phone chargers, object holders with trash hooks, internal divider, Ram emblem and the vintage sheep's head, in the style of the hood ornaments used by Dodge in the US between the 1930s and 1980s.
